So far, ClipBucket is going great but we still need to add some more features so we want to carry on. I have been thinking of removing crons and you can expect it in our next release, we will remove crons for video conversion, it will be required only for stats , nothing else.

Don’t get excited now as we are now going to work on ClipBucket documentation before we start working on development again, once we are done with our documentation, we will add some new cool features in ClipBucket.

I didn’t get enough time to work on main ClipBucket website, hopefully, once i am done with my project, i will work on our main stream website so users can find things more easily.

Well, so far, you have seen only what we have showed you, but , there are alot of things that we haven’t described yet or you can say, we didn’t get enough time to put our hands on these things so ultimately turned to *SECRETS*. Ok , lets move to real things

1. User Feeds

Yes, ClipBucket do create user feeds, for example “User has subscribed to other user” or “User has added other user as friend” or “User has uploaded new video” , these all feeds can be turned into real-time streams that requires little high performance server though it will work fine with users that are not more than 400 million, perhaps :p.

2. Multiple Files for Single Video

Now, What the hell is this ? ?…. its nothing like an ultimate feature but useful one that can be used for large videos to split them into parts , for example a video with the file name 123465798.flv can have 10 more parts such as 123465798-1.flv , 123465798-2.flv, 123465798-3.flv , 123465798-string.flv , 123465798-type.3gp and so on, ClipBucket is smart enough  to get all these file with only one function and that is  “get_all_video_files()”

3. Unlimited Video Thumbs

as i told you about files, ClipBucket can also produce as many thumbs for each video as you want and you can create a full time preview of a video using our Thumb Rotator Plug-in

there are many things that are still secret but these are secrets not because i didn’t get time but i forgot what are they :p

you can utilize these features as you want, i want to add Pictures and Music but STILL i haven’t seen any developer contribution who can take responsibility of creating any of these section. I can only hope for the best.

we have been working hard on our project and still awaiting for developers to join us and help us achieve the goals that we have set.

there are other scripts and it looks like they have more features than ClipBucket but if you go into deep, you can easily find the difference between the core coding of the ClipBucket and other scripts.

ClipBucket’s code is easy to edit and creating new plugins is also not difficult. I dont know how to write documentation on scripts, so i would let you guys to ask me questions about ClipBucket development, i will gladly help you.

I am trying my best and struggling to add as much features as i can but user contribution is too much low and unexpected that definitely low down our morals, i request you to please support our community by creating new themes or any changes or hacks you make, please do share them on our forums.

ClipBucket Rc2 has been released and we are almost reaching at a stable stage. But, complete list of features that ClipBucket has is too much long that if you compare with our existing features, none script can match us. and we are still willing to go on and on.

We want someone to work on Pictures sections, he just need to have good knowledge of Image and file manipulation with basic skills of MySql, everything else ie Category, Commenting, Sharing, Flagging, Rating are easy to extend and integrate with any Section of ClipBucket.

We also need someone to code Music section for us so ClipBucket can achieve the title of Multimedia Sharing Script.

Believe me , we are struggling hard, you people appreciate us alot, but this time, please do contribute what you can and i don’t mean a MONEY. Please support ClipBucket community.

Hello fellows

ah, i have been inactive from past few days, had to do some tough work, still not done but i can tell the release date of ClipBucket RC2
a long term problem that is coming with ClipBucket is video processing and i tried to add as much system abilities as i can. now featuring two more options and that are “Quick Conversion” and “Server Friendly” , as their names say, Quick conversion is basically used to turn on quick video conversion that starts converting videos as soon as it is uploaded and Server Friendly simple does not let ClipBucket to process videos more than 1 at a time.

Besides this, we have added

- Comments Moderation and Global Spam Option (if admin spam comment, it will not display)
- Subscribed Videos, this option was not added throughout ClipBucket v2 Releases
- Show Inactive sign on videos to admin on front end and quick video moderation.
- Fixed Video search in admin
- Fixed Video search in front end
- Fixed Group videos count
- Fixed Many Parts of View Channel
- Some more..

and the worst part was that, i recently update my OS and reinstalled local server and forgot to turn on magic_quotes_gc in php settings and that cause recent of version of ClipBucket alot of problems, advertisements were not adding properly, new gibberish text appears on adding new page so i recently found this problem and now its finally fixed for all next releases

ClipBucket RC2 Will be released on 23rd March – “Yaum – e – Pakistan” with a very special Green Template.

recently we contacted all FLV Players owners, few responded good and few didn’t and some didn’t even bother to reply us back but there was only one guy who agreed to go with ClipBucket. Bala fro Hdflvplayer.net. Hes player is awesome, got all features that we wanted for ClipBucket and he agreed to let us distribute their player with ClipBucket for free but with their brand name on it

ClipBucket & JFusion

“JFusion does its magic with the use of its JFusion user and authentication plugins. These plugins allow the complete customisation of the Joomla login behaviour without any core hacks to Joomla. When multiple softwares are integrated there needs to be one “master” software that controls all user management actions. When a user logs in to Joomla, JFusion will validate the user based on the user details in the master software. If a user is succesfully authenticated, JFusion will automatically create or update the user in all of the slave softwares.”

I am really thankful for JFUSION team for creating ClipBucket and JFusion Plugin, that will let ClipBucket to integerate with other scripts more easily

Well, after struggling hard, we have changed our database structure and added “prefix” on each database table so that we can make upgrade and migration possible and more easy. Though it was one of the tough thing to do when you have a big application running on a very strong structure but we are hoping that it will give good results because this step was very important in order to make migration possible.

Well in v2.0.4 many bugs are already fixed, few features are added, hoping to release it before Wednesday night 10 Feb, 2010.

We still need your support, sponsors, more developers and off course more users.

stay tuned for our next update, it will surely have “Migrator” from other scripts and “Upgrader” from previous version.
